Samsung has officially confirmed that its next-generation slim flagship, the Galaxy S25 Edge, will make its global debut on May 13, 2025. As the centerpiece of the upcoming “Galaxy Unpacked: Beyond Slim” event, the S25 Edge is not just a design marvel—it’s also a performance powerhouse with a 200MP camera and next-gen Snapdragon chip.
Launch Date and Event Details
The “Beyond Slim” event will be live-streamed across all major platforms on:
• May 12, 8 PM ET (May 13, 9 AM KST / 7:30 AM IST / 5 AM WAT)
Pre-reservations are already open in the US, with Samsung offering a $50 credit for early sign-ups.
Samsung has also confirmed that sales will begin on May 30 in select regions, including the United States. Production will reportedly be limited to 40,000 units initially, indicating a more exclusive release strategy.
Design: Thin, Light, and Premium
At just 5.84mm thick and weighing around 162 grams, the Galaxy S25 Edge is set to become Samsung’s slimmest and lightest flagship in recent memory. The phone is crafted with a titanium alloy frame and features a ceramic back, giving it a premium yet durable build.
Design highlights include:
• 1.32mm ultra-thin bezels
• Flat-edge frame
• Center-aligned punch-hole selfie camera
Available in Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Icy Blue
Display and Durability
The S25 Edge will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED Infinity-O display with top-tier specs:
• Full HD+ resolution
• Adaptive 1Hz–120Hz refresh rate
• Peak brightness: 2,600 nits
• Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2
This display is built for visibility in all lighting conditions and promises a smooth, immersive visual experience.
Camera System: 200MP Main Sensor
Samsung is equipping the S25 Edge with a 200MP primary camera, utilizing the ISOCELL HP2 sensor, which was previously seen in its Ultra models. Although it lacks a dedicated telephoto lens, advanced software features are expected to deliver digital zoom capabilities up to 3–4x with minimal detail loss.
Additional camera specs include:
• 12MP ultra-wide lens
• 12MP front-facing selfie shooter
Enhanced by Galaxy AI tools for smart editing, including Audio Eraser and Auto Trim
Performance: Built to Compete
Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite for Galaxy, built on a 3nm architecture. This custom chip can reportedly clock speeds up to 4.47GHz, offering elite-tier performance for multitasking, AI processing, and gaming.
Hardware and software specs:
• 12GB RAM
• 256GB or 512GB storage (no 1TB variant)
• One UI 7 based on Android 15
• Large vapor chamber cooling system
• No microSD card slot
• Likely no wireless charging, due to the ultra-slim design
Battery Life and Charging
The slim frame does come at a cost—battery capacity is between 3,900mAh and 4,000mAh, smaller than its Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra siblings. While Samsung hasn’t confirmed charging wattage, fast charging is expected. The omission of wireless charging remains unconfirmed but probable due to space constraints.
Software and Longevity
The S25 Edge is backed by Samsung’s long-term support promise:
• 7 years of Android OS and security updates
• AI features and One UI tools for future-proof user experience
Connectivity and Protection
Connectivity and other features include:
• Wi-Fi 7
• Bluetooth 5.4
• USB-C 3.2 port
• IP-rated water and dust resistance (likely IP68)
These additions make it a complete premium package, even with its thinner frame.
Pricing and Availability
Samsung has announced European pricing starting at €1,249 for the 256GB variant. US pricing is expected to fall around $899–$999, with final prices depending on local taxes and storage configurations. With pre-orders open, early adopters can gain bonus perks, such as Samsung Store credits or free accessories.
