Honor teases the Honor 400 series with the caption “coming soon.”

After the China-only release of the Honor 300 series, the company is shifting gears and preparing a full-scale global rollout for its next mid-range lineup—the Honor 400 series. With teasers already live and leaks revealing most of the hardware, it’s clear that Honor is stepping up its game in both design and performance.
Global Debut Begins with Honor 400 Lite
The global launch of the 400 series began quietly with the Honor 400 Lite, which made its debut in Austria last month, priced at €300 for the 8GB/256GB variant (early bird at €270). Meanwhile, in Malaysia, the same device arrived for MYR 1,300, dropping to MYR 1,100 for early buyers—a roughly 10% price cut compared to the European release.
But Honor isn’t stopping at the Lite. The main stars—the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro—are expected to launch very soon, with Honor Malaysia already teasing their arrival. A recent promotional image showed off a triple-camera design with the tagline “Next-Gen AI Imaging,” suggesting major improvements in AI-assisted photography.
Camera-Centric Design and AI Imaging
According to the teaser, both upcoming models will feature a striking circular camera island with three visible sensors and an LED flash, all arranged symmetrically. Rumors strongly point to the inclusion of a 200MP primary camera on both models, leveraging AI for advanced computational photography.
The Pro variant is also said to include a 50MP telephoto sensor and a 12MP ultrawide lens, while selfie capabilities will be handled by a 50MP front camera on both devices. These specs mark a significant upgrade, especially for the Pro model, which is clearly aiming at premium users.
Power Under the Hood: Snapdragon 7 & 8 Gen 3
Benchmark listings reveal that the Honor 400 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, the same SoC found in last year’s Honor 300, paired with 12GB of RAM. This model has been spotted on Geekbench with Android 15 pre-installed, promising future-ready software.
Meanwhile, the Honor 400 Pro will reportedly feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a flagship-level chip that debuted in top-tier devices earlier this year. This move pushes the Pro model into a much higher performance category than its predecessor.
Displays: High Refresh Rates and Extreme Brightness
The standard Honor 400 is rumored to sport a 6.55-inch flat AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of 5000 nits. On the other hand, the 400 Pro upgrades to a 6.7-inch quad-curved AMOLED display, maintaining the same refresh rate and brightness.
Color options for the series might include Black, Gold, and Grey, aligning with Honor’s trend of premium, muted finishes.
Battery and Charging Capabilities
Battery life looks equally promising. Both models are expected to feature a 5,300mAh battery, with the base Honor 400 supporting 66W wired fast charging, and the Pro model rumored to offer 100W fast charging—among the fastest in its category.
Despite the high-capacity battery, Honor has managed to keep the design sleek. The Honor 400 is expected to weigh around 184g and measure 7.3mm thick, while the 400 Pro is slightly heavier at 205g and 8.1mm thick.
Build Quality and Durability
The Honor 400 is expected to come with an IP65 rating, offering some protection against dust and water splashes. The 400 Pro, however, could take it a notch higher with IP68 or even IP69 certification, making it a more rugged option for those who need durability.
Pricing Speculation and Market Strategy
A recent leak suggests the Honor 400 might launch in Europe at around €500 for the 8/256GB version. Applying the same 10% discount seen with the Lite model and converting to Malaysian currency puts the price at roughly MYR 2,150—though this remains speculative.
There’s no confirmation yet on whether both models will debut simultaneously in Malaysia or if Honor will stagger the release, starting with one.
Model Numbers and Market Differences
Model identifiers such as DNY-NX9 for the Honor 400 further confirm that these are entirely new devices. It’s also worth noting that the Chinese variants of the Honor 400 series might differ slightly from the global models in terms of specs or software.
Anticipated Launch Timeline
While no official date has been announced, Honor’s “Coming Soon” teaser and the increasing volume of leaks strongly suggest a launch within May 2025. This would line up with previous rollout patterns and the timing of recent certifications.
